Council has launched Stage 2 Buy Local in Greater Hume Shire initiative across the shire.
The Stage 2 initiative is aimed at increasing the profile and support for local businesses within Greater Hume Shire. Research undertaken during 2016 revealed that many businesses were unaware of the range of businesses available across the shire and respondents want Council to promote the concept of buying locally and support the local business to business economy.
Businesses in Greater Hume Shire will receive a hard copy version of the business directory which has been released.
As well, businesses receiving the package will be able to participate in a survey to provide feedback to Council.
Survey results will provide advice back to Council regarding the value of Buy Local initiative, preferred distribution methods and whether there is significant interest for a mobile digital App format of the directory. The survey will test the level of interest for shopper incentive promotions into the future.
Currently Council has in excess of 400 local businesses listed on the online business directory
Survey responses can be completed via survey monkey please click here.
Council recognises the crucial role that small businesses play in developing our local community and looks forward to working with the shire businesses to support and promote local business activity.
Extra copies of the Buy Local in Greater Hume Shire Business Directory can be collected free of charge from any council office or library.
New businesses in the shire are encouraged to register their details with Council.
