Australia Day 2025 Nominations Announced

Nominations were announced today for Greater Hume’s 2025 Australia Day Awards to be presented at the Australia Day celebrations being held at Henty Recreation Ground, Angaston Road, Henty on Sunday, 26 January 2025.

The nominations are:

Sports Person/Team of the Year

Volunteer/Group of the Year

  • Anthony Phillis, Holbrook
  • Holbrook Meals on Wheels Volunteers, Holbrook
  • Kerry Small, Henty
  • Rural Care Link Op Shop Volunteers, Jindera
  • Colin Barrett, Henty
  • Walla Walla Newsletter Team, Walla Walla
  • Andrew Kotzur, Walla Walla

Community Event of the Year

  • The Bald Archy Exhibition
  • Holbrook Festival by the Sub

The Henty Community is also planning an afternoon of live music, kid’s entertainment including giant outdoor games and lots of other fun activities. Food and drinks will also be available.

This community event has been proudly funded by the National Australia Day Council.

All Greater Hume residents are invited to celebrate Australia Day, this year, at Henty Recreation Ground, Henty.

Details:

  • Commencing at 8am with a free Breakfast BBQ followed by the official ceremony at 9am and then family fun until 2pm.
  • Located at Henty Recreation Ground, Angaston Road, Henty.
  • Bring chair, rug, sunscreen, hat and insect repellent.
