Business dealt with at the 20 April 2022 meeting included:
Council will engage Mainmark Australia to undertake rectification works of the main pool and baby pool at the Jindera Swimming Complex.
The Code of Meeting Practice and Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Mayor and Councillors Policy were adopted following recent public exhibition.
Council resolved to renew a five (5) year Loan Agreement with the Australian War Memorial for the Loan of Commander Holbrook’s Medals.
Council endorsed the timeline to call Expressions of Interest and determine applications for funding totalling $301,708 under the NSW State Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program.
Council agreed to the proposal to dispose of the superceded town signage through an Expression of Interest process.
The draft Community Strategic Plan was approved for public exhibition and will accept submissions for the document until Friday 3 June 2022.
Council approved the application for a permanent additional special variation (ASV) under section 508(2) of the Local Government Act 1993, to include a rate peg increase of 2% for the 2022/2023 financial year in accordance with the previously advertised and adopted 2021/2022 – 2024/2025 four year budget and associated 10-year Long Term Financial Plan. This will result in additional income of $121,154.
Council approved a financial contribution to the Avondale Place Community Care Project of $10,000. Additionally Council will waive all Council levied fees estimated at $34,419.
The Jindera Community Gardens Committee was appointed as a Management Committee of Council in accordance with Section 355 of the Local Government Act 1993. The Terms of Reference for the Committee were adopted by Council.
Council approved the employment of contractors to undertake the remainder of Council’s Gravel Resheeting Program and approved the Natural Disaster Works Program.
Council has appointed Hutchinson Civil P/L for the Funks Pit Rehabilitation works to the value of $417,530.00 (excl. GST).
Council authorised the General Manager to sign the Funding Agreement for Financial Assistance under the 2020/21 National Flood Mitigation Infrastructure Program for Flood Mitigation Works to be constructed at Holbrook.
