Business dealt with at the 16 March 2022 meeting included:

Council agrees to support and participate in the Australian Local Government Association’s advocacy for their endorsed national funding priorities by writing to the local Federal Member(s) of Parliament, all known election candidates in local Federal electorates and the President of the Australian Local Government Association. The national funding priorities of the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA), would contribute an estimated $6.46 billion per year to Australia’s GDP and create 43,444 jobs.

Council resolved to move the June meeting from 15 June to 22 June to allow for appropriate review and endorsement of the Community Strategic Plan, Delivery / Operational Plan and 2022/23 Budget.

The Local Preference Purchase policy was endorsed for a 28 day public exhibition.

Council endorsed applications to the Building Better Regions Fund for the Culcairn Town Centre Accessibility, Streetscape and Drainage Works, and the 26 Lot expansion of the Jindera Industrial Estate.

Council resolved to make superannuation contributions to Councillors in accordance with Section 254B of the Local Government Act 1993.

Council appointed Hutchinson Civil P/L for tender TL08 2021/2022 for the Construction of Roundabout at Urana Street/Pioneer Drive at a cost of $499,430.00 (excl. GST).

Council resolved that sale of residential vacant allotment Lot 1, DP 503816, 48 Wilson Street, Holbrook and sale of residential property – Lot 12 Section 758522, 65 Peel Street, Holbrook will proceed to public auction.

Council resolved the General Manager will enter into negotiations for the sale of 96 – 100 Main Street, Brocklesby – Former Brocklesby Hotel – Lot 18 DP 6431 And Lots A And B DP 413482.

Council resolved to accept the Expression of Interest from the Bathla Group for the purchase of 5ha of vacant land at Holbrook.
