Council News from the March Meeting

At the March Council meeting some key decisions for our community were made.
 
At the meeting Council resolved to –
  • Approve the development of a new quarry at 3556 Olympic Highway, Culcairn. This new quarry will extract material up to 30,000 tonnes per annum and provide a valuable resource and economic benefit to our area.
  • Too not take a stance as yet in the current Albury Wodonga Health conversation in regards to whether to support a new single hospital on a new site or the redevelopment of the current Albury Health Campus. Council will undertake further discussions in regards to the new hospital with Albury Wodonga Health and seek a presentation from Infrastructure NSW.
  • Change the dates for the April, June and September ordinary Council meetings to allow sufficient time for exhibition periods and to avoid the September meeting falling within the Henty Machinery Field Days week. The new meeting dates are;
    • Wednesday, 23 April 2025
    • Wednesday, 25 June 2025
    • Wednesday, 17 September 2025
  • Place the revised Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities to Mayor and Councillors Policy on public exhibition for 28 days. This policy relates to the reimbursement of expenses and provision of facilities to Councillors to help them undertake their civic duties. Click here to view the revised policy and have your say.
  • Place the Draft Community Strategic Plan on public exhibition until 19 April 2025. This draft policy has been developed based on the feedback received during the ‘Help Shape Greater Hume’s Future’ community consultation and will outline the actions and direction for Council for the next 10 years.
