Greater Hume Council General Manager Resigns

Greater Hume Council General Manager, Evelyn Arnold, has announced her resignation, concluding a period of impactful leadership defined by resilience, innovation, and a strong commitment to community engagement. Ms Arnold will be returning to New Zealand to pursue new professional opportunities.
Reflecting on her time with the Council, Ms Arnold described the role as an honour.
“It has been a privilege to lead Greater Hume Shire Council and to work alongside an incredible team of professionals dedicated to serving the community. Together, we have built a valuesdriven culture that prioritises customer service excellence, transparency, and collaboration. I’m particularly proud of our efforts to modernise and develop the region. This includes redeveloping the Culcairn Business District and the creation of both the Holbrook Dog Park and an exceptional walking track in Burrumbuttock, promoting active lifestyles and fostering community well-being.” she said.
As she prepares to depart, she hopes the Council will continue its commitment to serving all residents across the region.
“I leave knowing that Greater Hume has a solid foundation for the future. There is so much potential for this region, and I hope to see Council continue working towards outcomes that benefit the entire community,” she added.
Evelyn Arnold’s departure marks the end of a chapter defined by competence, vision, and resilience qualities that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the Council and community.
