Greater Hume Local Iilysh Retallick through to Grand Final!

Iilysh Retaliick, a Year 12 student from Billabong High School and a proud Greater Hume local, has made it to the Grand Final of Australian Idol!

Born and bred in Culcairn and a self-proclaimed ‘checkout chick’ at the local Foodworks, Iilysh’s journey to stardom is an inspiring testament to her hard work, dedication, and passion for music. Right from the beginning of her Australian Idol journey, Iilysh has wowed the nation with her powerful voice and undeniable talent.

The Greater Hume community has rallied behind Iilysh, and the immense support has been crucial in propelling her to this remarkable achievement. From community watch parties and video messages to special ‘Iilysh’ sausages, Greater Hume has shown community spirit and indicated just what level of support regional communities are capable of for each other.  The outpouring of votes has been a true reflection of the love and pride felt by the whole of Greater Hume.

As Iilysh heads into the Grand Final, Council encourages everyone to continue voting for Iilysh to help her claim the title of Australian Idol! Voting will reopen in the evening of Sunday, 6 April 2025 and these votes will help determine the winner of the competition which will be announced Monday, 7 April.
