Safer Speed Zones Just in Time for Summer
Published on 08 November 2024
Motorists will soon experience safer journeys at Jindera with the speed limit on three local roads to be reduced this month.
Motorists travelling around Jindera recently might have seen VMS Boards notifying everyone of speed changes that will be occurring on Wednesday, 13 November 2024.
After consultation with Council, NSW Police and the Greater Hume Council Local Traffic Committee, these speed limit changes have occurred to ensure that locals and visitors have safe experience on our roads.
The speed limit on Drumwood, Walla Walla – Jindera and Urana roads will be reduced to 60 km/h as detailed below -
- Urana Road will be reduced from 100 km/h to 60 km/h from north of Colonial Drive to south of Quartz Hill Road
- Walla Walla-Jindera Road will be reduced from 100 km/h to 60 km/h from the Urana Street intersection to just south of Wehner Road
- Drumwood Road will be reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h from the Walla Walla-Jindera Road intersection to south of Lindner Road
The speed zone will be installed on Wednesday, 13 November between 7am and 5pm, weather permitting.
Traffic control and reduced speed limits of 40 km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and road users while the new speed zone changes are being installed.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Safe travels!
