Citizen of the Year - Alison Schuster, Henty

Ms Alison Schuster

Alison has been involved with many community groups in her time at Henty and before that in Lockhart Shire at her property at Munyabla.

These include:

  • Red Cross since 1980 until disbandment
  • Telecross for many years
  • Meals on Wheels with UPA for over 30 years and cooked at the Community Centre
  • Show Society steward and presented with a certificate of appreciation for 20 years work
  • Church - Lutheran Ladies Fellowship - catering for functions, particularly weddings, for many years
  • Community Club - catering secretary for many years, her specialty being the monthly birthday cake

The Henty Community Club takes great pleasure in nominating Alison for Greater Hume Citizen of the Year for 2025. Her catering skills have been an asset to the club and many other organisations as outlined above. She has also been an exceptional sportswoman, particularly bowls, and her sportsmanship, popularity and humility have been a wonderful example to others.
